Transport Crawler

Transport crawlers developed by ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnik are capable of relocating heavy mining equipment, such as conveyor transfer stations or crushing plants, easily and economically in a short period of time. Their carrying loads range from 150 to more than 1,200 tonnes. The transport crawlers are designed to travel over steep uphill and downhill slopes and cope with uneven terrain.

In 1970 ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnik started to develop the transport crawlers for the open pit mines of RWE. In the first instance they have been used for the transport of the large head stations of the large conveyors. Nowadays transport crawlers are a very versatile tool in the mine all over the world for handling of big loads, not only for conveyor stations but also during the erection phase of big plants and in mines which use semimobile crushing plants.
